Hot Honey Tofu


Hot Honey Tofu

Vegetarian, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free

Servings: 3 - 4

Cook Time: 25 minutes



1 block (14 ounces) of tofu (freeze overnight, then defrost for firmer tofu)

1/2 cup of almond milk

1 tbsp of lemon juice

1/2 tsp of salt

2 tbsps of ground flax meal

1 cup of cornmeal

1/2 tbsp of Herbes de Provence

Hot Honey

1 tbsp of honey ( I used Bumbleberry Farms sticky bun honey spread)

2 tbsp of dairy-free butter

1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp of garlic powder

Salt & red pepper flakes to season


  1. Cut tofu into cubes. Place cubes into a medium-sized bowl, cover with milk, lemon juice, and salt.

  2. When ready to cook, preheat oven to 400℉.

  3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine cornmeal, flaxseed meal, and Herbes de Provence. Dredge tofu, one-by-one, through this mixture.

  4. Spread breaded tofu evenly onto a greased baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  6. While tofu is baking, prepare hot honey. Add butter and honey to a sauce pan, mixing constantly until fully combined.

  7. Add spices and seasonings, mix until well-combined.

  8. Brush (or drizzle) honey on tofu.

  9. Serve hot.
